Looking Up
by: Rockerdude412

I got out the car and just fell onto my front lawn. I was going to lay there until I found an answer. The event I just returned from drained me. I couldn't stand all the conversation. When I got the call to go, I thought fun. It didn't turn out that way, unfourtunatley. But I didn't want to focus on that. I stared at the stars. I tried to find Orion's belt, the only contellation I knew. I always remembered it from second grade, because it was so easy to find. It was a simple line of three stars.

Later, I found myself forming my own constellations with my own perfect stories. Ones that ended happily, with no problems. Ones totally unlike my life. The I thought, what if I was a star? I could be up there, away from all this, and away from anything else. They say the stars are light years away from each other. If only I had that oppurtunity right now. After thinking about too many stories, I closed my eyes. I kept them shut and dreamt about weird things. Things I knew nothing about. Things I wondered about.

When I opened my eyes, I knew I had been sleeping. I felt weird and groggy. My back was wet, I could feel dew on the grass. I had this thing in my brain telling me get up, but my muscles said "no." I layed there, watching every thing pass by.

I slept on the lawn that night, and when I arose, I felt so good. Strangely, I had sorted out everything in my mind. Now, when I look up at the stars, I still peer around for Orion's belt, and I won't look down 'till I find it.
